Plants
Alpines & Perennials
Alpines are usually native to wild mountainous alpines regions. As a general rule they prefer a free draining habit and a good sunny location. They are usually quite compact in habit; are perfectly suited to rockery garden and have dainty pretty flowers.
Perennials on the other hand are slightly different in that they tend to be taller and bigger in size than alpines. Perennials are either evergreen or herbaceous (i.e. they hibernate for the winter). They are well suited to garden beds or borders where height and spread are important considerations. On the whole, perennials prefer a sunny position but there are quite a few varieties that will tolerate a shadier position.
There is a wide range of plants in stock that are well suited to growing in Cornish stone walls and hedges.
